We usually close a transaction using Stop symbol or Stop Transaction option in the menu of the window.

Sometimes this option won't work as the window doesn't respond. Definitely everyone has faced this issue, here is the simple solution for this irritating issue.
In the windows taskbar -> show hiddens icons -> Right Click on the SAP icon->Close Sessions

A Pop Up windows appears, there you can close whichever transaction you want.
